    quotes:

A MIRACLE in healing is not the conjuring of some magic, nor a disruption in the created order, or something supernatural. Rather, healing exemplifies the redemption of fallen creation, the restoration of the created order, the return to the usual, the normative, the natural.
William Stringfellow, A Simplicity of Faith: My Experience in Mourning

IS NOT the most helpful way to approach the gospel miracles to place them within the familiar and inescapable tension between the already and the not yet, kingdom come and kingdom coming, the new age inaugurated and the new age consummated? To the skeptical (who doubt all miracles), I want to say "but already we have tasted the powers of the age to come." To the credulous (who think that healing miracles are an everyday occurrence), I want to say "but not yet have we been given resurrection bodies free from disease, pain, infirmity, handicap, and death."

    Communication and Scrapbook Therapy
I am liking the Imaginif Child Protection site that was posted on someone's else blog or webpage.

    I am posting two articles:
    Communication :http://imaginif.com.au/~ima33724/blog/2008/02/04/how-to-teach-clear-communication-to-children/

and Art and therapy and Scrapbooking !!
    at http://imaginif.com.au/~ima33724/blog/2008/02/01/scrapathy-life-story-work-training/
What is Life Story Work: Life story work is not merely an elaborate photo album, a record of a life story or a fun thing to do. Life Story work is a three part therapeutic intervention: a process used to assist children in care to integrate past hurts and make sense of why they are in care and who they are. Life Story Work is a tool that therapists and those working closely with kids in out of home care use as a framework of producing best practice outcomes for a subject child.

What is Scrapathy? Scrapathy is the therapeutic marriage of Life Story Work with Scrap book tenets and techniques. Designed to help kids in out of home care creatively integrate their pain and understand who they are, why they are in care and where they are going, it is a hands on practical art therapy course where participants are encouraged to make a scrap book page for themselves and ultimately a scrapbook album of a child or young person’s life story work. Scrapathy works equally as well as a self development or self improvement tool.

    Life of Linda
I Really like Myspace and Livejournal (i think myspace is vhs and LJ is beta-max) but i am not to happy with myspace right now as their system has blocked me out of the blog center so i can't write, read comments, or read other blogs (which debbie and david's blogs are unaffected for the most part) Anyway, I hope they get it fixed soon- i am vaguely worried about it- I may do what Josiah does -i will move it to a word file and print it out and make a book (but that kind of stuff you need money for so everything will have to happen at the end of the month)

-Now on to the main stuff-I have started my new job with tutoring and i have gone to meetings-apparently fran is vision-impaired as i was sitting in star bucks waiting for her and she was waiting for me and since she couldn't see sideways she missed me waving to her and trying to get her attention-finally she looked straight and saw me and had me come over to her table...(i saw her but figured that she would come over when i waved to her or walked passed her- i though this is a person who just looks like her since she doesnt see me or respond)

So, She and two other tutors were there and after talking about tutoring and different ways of teaching -they were like i want to leave the ditto forest and move into the land of Multiples: Multiple interactions, Multi-Sensory, and multiple intelligence theory---Right now, we live in a ditto forest that maybe useful for some things (like tutoring in math for the one kid i help)but most of the time is is costly and ineffective-and alot of it ends up in the garbage.) They hope that they can get a grant and put all this learning theory to good use as right now they are sort styimed by the system. One of tutors had a girlfriend who works at St. joseph's in the heart department and i jumped on that and i was like do you know Josiah and she is like yeah, he is so intelligent and such a good nurse and I was like yah he is -he loves to read and help others...she says he works in the east wing and she in the west (or is it reversed?)so I am proud when people brag about my friend or when i get to brag about them-because i have really awesome friends :) Then, Fran was bragging about my mom's legal skills (she has often worked with my mom on legal/court and employment issues)and everyone is like I need help and such and i am like my mom can do it! ) ( on a side note, I know divorce court is hard but hate the whole revenge motif-i will kill him, destroy his credit, burn his house down, make him pay through the nose, and then after he has been sucked dry i will throw his bloated corpse in the river and then find a new fellow to share my life with....) anyway, We got all our papers together and I spent a good part of yesturday calling people for A to Z and leaving messages trying to book appointments for the month of feburary so i can have some money for gas, eating, wedding gifts/packages, medicine, the fair, etc and etc.

I have three appointments this week -tues/wed for a little boy and thursday for first grader. I will have to look up stuff for the kindergardener and work more with carrying numbers and double digits with the first grader. I have to call the schools of two kids to get dates and talk to one mom about fixing the time sheet but i think it will be ok-i am hoping ! I have all my stuff organized and tabbed so i am on top of this sucker for the most part.I have to do more paper work today and work on those appointments.

Two, Last friday I went to Trinity Cafe (a ministry of Salvation Army) with the Catholic student union and since i had been there before (once or twice)
I was hosting a table of 8 mostly by my self. Some of other people helped too but i will tell you serving that rotating table was very hard work not only be cause it was 8 people but they kept eating and leaving and it was hard to keep track of them all. You sit them down, and you get drinks and bread, then give them their soup,(which got mixed reviews)then the main course (cooked up by a master chef (they get so much it is hard to finish it all) and then they get dessert and a snack pack to tide them over until tommarrow. So, I am trying to keep track on who got the soup and the other dishes as one person who just sat down needs a drink and soup, and one needs their snack pack and two want refills and one wants a special order and so on...We cater to what they want and we talk to them about life and etc! It is always enjoyable work, at least to me, and then at the end the laborers are fed too and they give such hearty potions i cant finish it all. Then we did a small devotional out side by the car (this was a new thing-what did you learn/what could you do differently etc) It is the small helps and smiles and food and prayers make all the difference...:) they also told a story about the this lady who they helped and now has a job and it is looking up for her.:)
I always love stuff like that.

Anyway, What else is happening ? Well, I am still walking with Greg who is stressing about the Bar and will he make it? I think he will but everyone worries about the final exam in any topic. :)His dogs are driving him nuts as they are ready to tackle and defend against any person place or thing that happens to be in our path-biccyclers, squirrels, other dogs, joggers, etc.
I went to Lunch with Ruthy and Phlu and that went well. Ruthy talked about her ideas for a christian musical with Mary M and was fishing for Ideas and Phlu, the recent grad! (woohoo for phlu!) is trying to find a new job -tech support or other would be good for them-ruthy said she is going to help him
with all that. She is enjoying marriage and will be having a Artist Friday on the 2nd friday of each month and the 4 month is fellowship and worship...
I think i wrote about the guy who was chivalous at the cheese shop and i though that was great!

The Last part is about God and I and others. Recently, many of my friends have been encouraging me and expressing to me how thankful that they are for me and how intelligent, smart and gifted i am which makes me really happy and i think i hide that side of me sometimes because people dont want to hear it and some times it is hard to be me because i want to say something but i dont want to be rejected so i have as they say a interal moral conflict or war going on inside me sometimes (and sometimes it is just strimishes)but I think that the Holy spirit wants me to celebrate this and all authentic linda's "ness" and through this will brighten up the world or at least some peoples life and change the world for ever! :) It feels good to get all these smart comments :) thank you all!! I talked to Danny some at my church about life and health and such (he is the leader at Career/college) and that was good-although I wanted to go to his party but this was one house that tom tom could NOT find so i stayed home and watched half of the game and the half-time show with Tom Petty-Other than looking really old (he sort of look like willie nelson) -he did a very good job on the show-he played stand my ground (which makes me think of ken) and freefalling ( i also like the song i am still standing but it is not my him despite the similar name)with his band and again did a good job-this was one of the better pieces that they had in years....I went to bed after the half-time show and the giants pulled a upset and beat the patiots....At church earlier, the pastor encouraged us to pray for the well-being of players rather than which team would win. The sermon was called the Assurances of God-His Presence, his Protection, His Provision, and his peace and last week was praying to be a aware of God's presence and purpose in your life and Richard was talking about finding God's purpose and meaning in life and Wed-service was the different kinds of Prayers and asking God to send people (like the network-think the saints) to talk to those who you love but wont listen to you. and Lastly, Small actions and prayers achieve big results-one plants and one waters and one gets the harvest!

    prayer
O heaven father, whose voice we hear by the holy spirit
    and whose breath gives life
    to all the world,
    hear us.

    We are small and weak.
We come to you to find strength and wisdom.
    Let us walk in beauty
    and make our eyes
    ever behold the sunset.

    Make our hands respect
    the things you have made
    and our ears sharp
    to hear your voice.

    Make us wise
    so that we may understand
the things you have taught our relatives.
Let us learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock.

    We seek strength,
not to be greater than our brothers and sisters,
but to fight our greatest enemy-ourselves.

Make us always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset
our spirit may come to you
    without shame.

Update: Ran into Sasha again at the BM, Lovely peach lace dress and new job for her. YEA! She works at the moffitt cancer center as a biomedical lab assistant which takes up most of her time. She says she doesnt do the "friends" stuff much any more but still shoots up on weekends. She gave me the blow/blow desctiption on how to take tynerol with codeine and mix it with chorform and hydro acid and pyrin and make drugs chemically speaking. So Utterly brillant but she and james are sometimes very lacking in remorse. James and his fellow atheist discussed "counter-preaching" in Ybor and life goes on. She will gradurate in DEC with a degree in ecomonics, going to grad school for biomedical cancer research to study medicine.
I am abundantly thankful to GOD she is not dead and that she is doing better!!!!
YEAH! so that was the day!!

    Dear Father God,
I know that I've done wrong through my thoughts, my actions, and the things that I've said, sometimes by mistake and sometimes on purpose. I have gone my own way and not put you at the center of my life. I am very sorry and ask that you please forgive me. I thank you that I can ask you this because I truly believe that your Son, Jesus, died in my place and, through Him, I have access to you. Please help me to follow you more closely every day and live a life which gives glory back to you. I pray this in Jesus' name.
    Amen.

    prayer quote
It was easy to forgive some people but not others- I had to do the exercise many times to really feel like I meant this aspiration.
The second part was to send compassion to those people, and to the rest of the world. I think it's hard to pray meaningfully for people unless we forgive them for their wrongs against us-

Lord have mercy and help me do this!

Here is the link to shorter myspace space blog
    http://www.myspace.com/26657935 and my much larger
livejoiurnal blog :http://abundantjoy2004.livejournal.com/. I post different
stuff on both so reading both is a good way to tell how i am or a place to
fidn good quotes. Well, abundantjoy is what am i natually, my dad calls me
linda joy(ous) on his cell phone and that is how i am normally-even more so
with God the source of all joy and strength. Depression and anger (which
alot of books say that depression is buried /unresolved anger and grief ) is
only passing though ..like a gale storm that wrecks things but then the sn
comes out and people work together to put everything back together again. I
had a friend who had two ms pages one for the happy side and one for the sad
side but it is two much work to do both so just do one and work though it. I
am reading what is so amazing about grace and some chapters out of "how can
i help you" and working though my scismat. Nothing scares the "monsters" of
our life more than education and prayer and friends with flashlights. hehehe
:P I tell you it is weird, i tell my friends, i have these problems but
though all this stuff God helps me work out other stuff. So i get sick (not
by god mind you) but then God uses that to make be extra well. That much is
happy. :) well all love Linda
